Snowmass Rocks Freeride Championships!

Yesterday was the crowning of all those daredevil, supremely talented freeriders in skiing and snowboarding. Aspen ski shops helped suit up those preparing to be the next generation of athletes whose idea of “skiing” involves back-flips, bombing runs through meter wide gaps and gullies, monster cliff drops and the occasional boulder or two. These athletes show us what Snowmass skiing/snowboarding really has to offer, and risking serious pain for the largest cash prize of only $1,900. The competition was held last weekend on the steep, treacherous Hanging Valley Headwall and Burnside Cliffs here in Snowmass. We’re so lucky. Great competition to witness. Congratulations riders!
